Our Clients were refurbishing their country farm house and dreamed of having an extensive high end audio and visual solution throughout the beautiful property.

Our Clients were avid music and cinema lovers and set us the task of designing a whole house solution, including a multi-use High End Cinema and Music Listening Room, Living Room home cinema system and music listening throughout the property.

The HiFi system in the Cinema and Music Listening Room was extremely important to the Clients, so we had to firstly set about creating a truly high-end HiFi system and then develop the Cinema design from this stage – creating two intertwined systems of this level was a fantastic proposition for us.

Our Clients wanted to create a Cinema and Music Listening room that would give them an immersive cinematic experience for movies, but would also provide a high-end relaxed environment for music listening and entertaining. As with all of our projects, the first milestone to achieve is for our Clients to be 100% satisfied that they fully understand the layout of the Audio and Visual systems, so to ensure it gives them exactly what they need. We commenced this stage with site survey and walked through the project with the Clients, so that we fully understood what they wanted to achieve and discuss the initial ideas that we put forward.

The second stage of the design was for our Clients to audition the Audio and Visual systems that we recommended – this an exciting part for all our customers, as they start to experience the truly high-class performance that they will have in their homes, which is vastly superior to anything they have experienced in public cinemas.

Our Clients visited our showroom and auditioned the immersive cinema experience in our dedicated Cinema Room. From this audition, we achieved visual and electronics sign off for the Client’s Room. For the next part of this audition, we moved over to one of our dedicated HiFi demonstration rooms, to experience the proposed Living Room and multi-room audio systems, which the Clients were delighted with.

With our Clients love of music, and Brief for a High End audio system for the Music Listening Room mode of their Cinema Room, we visited one of the UK’s leading Loudspeaker manufacturers in Gloucestershire. This visit was for them to experience and audition various options of HiFi systems in the manufacturer’s dedicated listening room, so that we could tailor the system design to meet the exact requirements. We would usually undertake these auditions in one of our own 4 demonstration rooms, but due to the size and range of loudspeakers to be auditioned, the listening experience of doing this at the manufacturer was by far the best solution.

At this stage, we worked with the Clients’ contractor, who was undertaking the property’s extensive refurbishment, in order to incorporate the infrastructure for the Audio and Visual systems within the property. Following various site meetings and consultations, we prepared layout drawings for the contractor to work to.

It is very important that the construction works are undertaken to highest standard, especially in a cinema room, where it’s almost guaranteed that the Clients will be watching movies at cinema reference volume levels – it’s far too tempting to turn up the volume when you have your very own cinema! The first part of the construction was incorporation of all cabling for the Audio and Visual systems. Working closely with the Clients’ property refurbishment contractor, all of the whole house cabling was installed at a very early stage, to conceal cables within walls and ceilings.

Once the property’s walls, ceilings and floors were all constructed, we moved on to the exciting part of creating the Cinema and Listening Room joinery stud walls, where for the first time the Clients could actually start to experience how the room would form.

Once all the timberwork was in place for the Cinema and Listening Room, we then moved on to installation of the cinema screen, wall and ceiling loudspeakers, acoustic treatment, stretch fabric walls, AV rack and the electronic equipment.

It is at this final stage of the installation, when the systems are live and finally the audio and visual parts of the installation can be heard and seen for the first time. Once the systems were installed, we commenced with the undertaking of sound calibration, which is carried out by taking test tone measurements through specialist calibrated microphones at various positions in each listening space – this collected audio information is then used to make finite adjustments to create an exceptionally immersive listening experience.

Once the systems were calibrated, the control systems were set up to allow our Clients to operate the Cinema Room with the programmed handheld controller and audio systems through smart phone and tablet controls.

The most important part – The handover to the Client of their new exciting systems, ready for them to take a seat and be blown away by the cinematic experience they now have in their own home, together with their ultra high quality music systems. We talked the Client through the operation of the systems and, as always, we offer our post completion support for any questions they may have.

The completed multi-room audio systems were sounding extremely good, which can be difficult to achieve with small in-ceiling speakers, but with the incorporation of discrete subwoofers and high standard system calibration, the achieved sound performance was at a top level.

The completed HiFi system performs to it’s High End standards, with careful equipment matching, together with High End power conditioning and grounding, the sound performance is simply incredible – if you want to close your eyes and hear a full scale orchestra in front of you, then this is the system to have.

Our Clients wanted a Cinema Room for occasional use, however the breath taking immersive experience of a truly class leading Cinema in their own home has seen them using the room far more than they ever expected.

We are very pleased to have undertaken the project for our Clients and we thank them for selecting us, a company that was 80 miles away from their home, to deliver their project for them.
