As many of you may know, we started The Audiobarn back in November 2014 after what had seemed, an endless search for the ideal location AND facilities. We wanted plenty of free parking for events, a building with character, and a location within easy reach from all directions. (Today we have visitors from the South Coast to as far as the North West!)
Unit 2, “The Threshing Barn” became available and ticked all of our boxes, and so with a quick conversion and renovation, we were up and running and opened up to the public on Saturday, 31st January 2015.

2023 saw us take on the lease to Unit 4, “The Old Byre”, which our team have thoughtfully converted into a home cinema. It enables us to show cross-over hifi and cinema installations, as well as dedicated home cinema. 2024 – Launch of Two New Demo Rooms
So, when at the beginning of summer 2023, unit 3, “The Plough Barn” was offered to us, it was very much a case of “why wouldn’t we” take on this building? It ties our two existing units together and provides even further scope for creating the ideal demo experience.
To this end, we have created TWO fresh demo rooms, with no expense spared. The first is our ‘Classic Room’, where we have been careful to ensure that the space mimics the traditional UK living room in size and acoustic response. This is something we have often wondered with the Unit 2 room, and whether stand-mounted speakers and smaller floor-standers can adequately fill the space. Well the ‘Classic Room’ addresses this perfectly.
The 2nd space, is the ‘Valve Room’ which has our Audio Note, Quad and Engstrom systems set up, with decor befitting a more traditional taste! Below, a teaser picture to give you an insight into what shall be on offer in January 2024.
With four unique and carefully considered demo rooms, and customer service second to none, we really believe that in 2024 we will offer an unrivalled customer experience, and can’t wait to share our fantastic facilities with new and familiar faces alike at our open days and individual demos.
