The Taiko Audio SGM Extreme is a State of the Art Music Server designed to deliver the most realistic sounding / live reproduction from stored music files and streaming music from Qobuz and Tidal. The hardware architecture is a dual multi core CPUs running under a Taiko Audio custom assembled operating system built from the ground up using the Windows 10 components designed for industrial controller applications with SOTA process schedulers. All data and software storage is non SSD, and utilizes non SATA, non volatile solid state storage modules.
The Taiko Audio SGM Extreme is powered by a linear power supply with choke regulation and a large capacitor bank utilizing the highest audiophile grade Dueland and Mundorf capacitors.. Music files can be stored in the internal storage up to 24 TB or in a NAS (Network attached Storage). The standard software suite is Roon with delivery of the data stream to JPlay which delivers the data stream to the USB controller.

DUAL CPU DESIGN
In the past you would always have to make a tradeoff when planning your digital source: Sound quality or user experience / ease of use. For us, there is no better software to browse your own music as well as finding new music through the countless streaming services than Roon. Since the start of the SGM project in 2015, Roon has therefore been at the center of what we are doing.
The choice to design a dual CPU system was for a large part fuelled by finding a way around the impact Roons luxury interface has on sound quality. It does enable Roon processing to become virtually inaudible, a world’s first in our experience.
With our groundbreaking custom allocation of processes, you can now have both: The best sound quality as well as the best user interface. What’s more, due to the low amount of heat that is generated due to this design, you can expect a much longer component life than a single CPU design.
The Extreme changes the game. It’s at the point where high-end streaming takes on the same degree of subtlety and rootedness that you might get from an absolute pinnacle CD or SACD player.
